The Fizeau interferometery with localized fringes is a method for testing optical surfaces. In this paper it is introduced and its application for local evaluation of the primary mirror of the Iranian National Observatory (INO) telescope is presented. The method has applied for testing the primary mirror of INO telescope and results are verifying the measurements of the manufacturer. Furthermore, it shows details that are not observable in the measurements of the manufacturer. The measurements prove that the mirror quality is acceptable and within the specification of the contract.
