Abstract: (900 Views)
Ti-6Al-4V is a very attractive metal for various industries due to its low density, high corrosion resistance, good biological compatibility and high weight resistance ratio. Therefore, much research has been done to improve the surface properties and mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V. One of the most important factors in the laser shocking process is determining the thickness of the adsorbent coating. Selecting the low thickness of the adsorbent coating will damage the surface of the material and selecting its high thickness will reduce the depth of shock wave penetration into the material. In this study, the effect of adsorbent coating on Ti-6Al-4V laser shocking process was investigated and the optimal thickness of adsorbent coating in this process was calculated to be 0.3 mm. The results of this study can be used in the field of optimization of Ti-6Al-4V laser shock in industry.
