Abstract: (922 Views)
In this paper, a single-pass ZBLAN fiber amplifier with thulium (Tm) dopant in the IR wavelength range is presented. Numerical modeling is based on solving steady-state (continuous wave) rate equations taking into account the effect of spontaneously amplified emission noise (ASE). A wavelength of 1050 nm is used to amplify the S-band communication area, and the signal is amplified to a wavelength of 1460 nm. Furthermore, by investigating the performance of various parameters, the optimal conditions of the amplifying is obtained.
