An anti-resonant reflecting plasmonic waveguide from core of FK51A-glass based on the resonant coupling between a guided dielectric mode and surface plasmon polariton wave is designed for refractive index sensing application. The Finite Difference Eigen solver method is used and two fundamental modes are obtained at the visible wavelengths by varying the refractive index of the superstrate layer. Considering the light evanescent through the superstrate layer and light responses in this layer, a sensitivity as high as 0.02 (dB/nm)/RIU was measured for the TM1 mode, which is quite applicable for sensing application.
