In this paper, the theoretical dependence of plasmonic spectral wavelength maximum of metal island vs the refractive index was examined and then plasmonic response of absorption spectra of silver island films (less than 100 nm in size) in both cases was discussed . The first mode using solvents such as dielectric media with different refractive index and a second mode using liquid crystal as a dielectric media was activated by applying electrical voltages low, the refractive index of the medium due to the molecular orientation of the crystals liquid changed and as a result of the absorption spectra of the island silver film in this case is moved as much as 22 nm. These experiments demonstrated that it can plasmonic structures feature nanometals / liquid crystals, used as active plasmonic sensors.
