	<abstract_fa>&lt;p dir=&quot;ltr&quot;&gt;In this paper, we have analyzed and simulated the performance of a refractive index sensor, by using an analytical and the finite-difference time-domain methods. The sensor sensitivity has been derived to show its sensitivity. The analytical and numerical results comply very well. The proposed device can be utilized in design of the optical nano-scale devices and photonic integrated circuits.&lt;/p&gt;
