In this paper a 500W all-fiber narrow linewidth laser at 1079nm is designed and constructed. Seed-amplifier setup was used for this purpose. Yb+3 doped double clad fiber was used as active medium. The optical efficiency for amplifier is 69%. Laser linewidth of oscillator and amplifier is 0.05nm and 0.09nm respectively. This paper also discusses the impact of output coupler mirror linewidth and fiber length on the SBS threshold. The spectrum and power of laser is stable and due to appropriate fiber bending the output beam is single mode.
